Appleby Horse Fair Long Sleeve T-Shirts

Every year for over 100 years there is a Gypsy Horse Fair in Appleby, in the Lake District of England. It is attended by about 10,000 Gypsies and many more visitors and lasts for about a week. There is a big Campsite with caravans and a lot of Gypsy vardoes and many stores selling all sorts of things. Horses are bought and sold and part of the tradition is to take them down to the River Eden and wash them, so that they are in their best condition for selling. This was a picture I took at this year's Appleby Horse Fair in Appleby Westmoreland, where Gypsies come to show off their horses and sell them. There is a long Country lane where they parade and put their horses through their paces, it's called Flash Lane. I changed the background as it was a bit messy using Photoshop CC and Topaz studio and my own textures.

The Appleby Horse Fair, also known as Appleby New Fair, is "an annual gathering of Gypsies and Travellers in the town of Appleby-in-Westmorland in Cumbria, England." The horse fair is held each year in early June, attracting roughly 10,000 people and about 1,000 caravans.

I met this Traveller and his lovely horse at The Appleby Horse Fair recently. It is a famous fair and attracts up to 10,000 Travellers (or Gypsies) and a lot more visitors. They come to sell or exchange their horses and generally have a good time for one week in June every year. The problem was, he had owned the horse from a foal and it was now 5 years old and he didn't know whether he could really part with it, but then again if the price was right ---? He asked if I would post a picture, so here it is. If he eventually sold it I hope it went to a good home, it was a lovely horse, an excellent trotter and had been well cared for.

This is a beautiful horse I saw at The Appleby Horse Fair last week, where the Travellers or Gypsies meet to sell and exchange their horses. This one had a braided mane and was one of the most striking horses I saw there. I decided to put the horse into a moonlit setting as the dark background really shows off the lovely features of the horse.

This is the same horse that I took for "Under a Gypsy moon" at The Appleby Horse Fair. It was a beautiful horse and I took several pictures of it. This one I decided to put in a wild moorland background that I created with some of my images and textures. I called it Restless Beauty because he was flicking his mane and his tail as he walked. Edited in Photoshop and Topaz.

This is a Gypsy horse or Irish cob and it was taken at The Appleby Horse Fair in the UK which is an annual event where Gypsies come to buy and sell their horses and generally have a good time. This horse was tethered in a big field with vardoes and caravans in the background which made it quite a messy photo, so I replaced the background with a bit of mist and light with my own textures, Topaz and PhotoshopCC.

Another shot from last years Gypsy Horse Fair at Appleby, where the Gypsies take their horses and show them off, trotting on Flash Lane, with a view to selling them on. This was a lovely Gypsy Cob and I loved it's mane and fetlocks as it galloped down the lane. I have added a few textures and blended the image in Topaz and photoshop.

Photographed at The Appleby Horse Fair where Gypsies gather annually to buy and sell their horses. This lovely Irish Cob or Gypsy cob and her delightful foal were tethered outside some of the caravans. I never found out if they got sold or not, I just hope wherever they ended up they were well looked after. I edited this in Photoshop cc and Topaz Remask and added three of my own textures.
