Dikdik, Madoqua kirkii, or Kirks Dik Dik, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, East Africa. (Featured inAmazing Wildlife and others.) Dikdiks form monogamous pairs in fixed territories of low bush along dry, rocky stream beds. They mark their territory with dung deposits & with secretions from the preorbital gland. Dikdiks live in various habitats with good cover and plentiful browse. At maturity they weigh up to 12bls & are 14in at the shoulder. They are one of the smallest antelopes. This genus is distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia (such as North India, China, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Borneo) and Northern Australia. Looking down from the rim of the canyon the Tsauchab River flows though the Sesriem Canyon, but it is usually as dry as in this image. At the entry to Sossusvlei is the Sesriem Canyon. The Rothschild’s Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi) is one of the most endangered giraffe subspecies with only a few hundred members in the wild. (Featured in Animals of Africa, & Other Groups.) A successful program is being conducted in Kenya, to help save these amazing animals. The Rothschild’s subspecies is paler than other sub-species, the orange-brown patches are less jagged and sharp in shape and the connective channel is of a creamier hue compared to that seen on the Reticulated Giraffe. In addition, the Rothschild Giraffe displays no markings on the lower leg, giving the impression that it is wearing white stockings. They are also taller than other subspecies, measuring up to six metres tall (20 ft).

The Crown of Thorns plant is also known as Christ's Crown or the Christ's Thorn. Botanical name, Euphorbia milii. The "Crown-of-thorns" is a trailing or climbing spiny shrub with showy flower clusters and red, petal like bracts. It is widely grown in domestic gardens in temperate and hot climates. This plant contains caustic and irritant chemicals in the latex. Avoid contact to the skin and eyes. General symptoms of ingestion are: abdominal pains, blistering/irritation of the mouth/throat and vomiting.
