Fire is the intelligence that enlightens everything, leaving nothing in the shadow. Fire is the energy and beauty of life. It represents purification and is also a symbol of eternal rebirth. Fire has a clinging personality, its direction is south.

Water is a huge source of creativity and love. It will forever challenge us, because it is impossible to fathom its depth. When we follow its movements, we follow our dao. Water has an abysmal personality, its direction is north.

Wind is the voice of earth. Of all the forces that bend things, there is none swifter than the wind. It is the messenger, it conveys possibilities, ideas and patterns. Wind has a gentle personality, its direction is southeast.

The mountain is the axis of your being, the center of your world. Everything turns around the mountain, but it does not move from its place. Mountain has a still personality, its direction is northeast.

I Ching (Book of Change) Hexagram 55 is named 豐 (fēng), "Abounding". Other variations include "abundance" and "fullness". Its inner trigram is ☲ (離 lí) radiance = (火) fire, and its outer trigram is ☳ (震 zhèn) shake = (雷) thunder.
