Jungle Crews Long Sleeve T-Shirts

Skippers like things. We really like things that have to do with being a Skipper. That's exactly what this shirt is about. There's no other meaning, no reference to any popular culture or TV show. It's just that we're Skippers, and we like our things.

Not only is Bertha the most famous elephant in the Indian Elephant Bathing Pool, she is also skilled in her after hours activities. After years of bringing the beats to the Jungle Pool Party, she is now doing sets at a local night club, Sam’s Place. She’s definitely the only DJ who ever scratches the vinyl with their nose.

Skipper Richard Wallace is the gift that keeps on giving. Last year, we did a bunch of art for a Kickstarter game, and we had a lot of pieces left over. We're going to start uploading them so you can have some fun with them. This little beauty is going straight onto a black t-shirt, and also a car sticker for me.

Everyone wants to be a Princess, right? All the working on the latest dress for the next ball. Plus, there's always managing the servants and the house, balancing the castle budget, and so so many rooms to decorate. Plus, the moment there's an uprising, guess who gets their head on the chopping block first. That's why everyone wants to be a Jungle Skipper. No responsibility, a life of adventure, and a remarkably low level of interaction with French peasants. Hippos... why did it have to be hippos? In this piece by Richard Wallace, we have our hero, Skipper Gary London, escaping a wild herd of Hippos as he has disturbed the sanctity of a temple in the middle of the Jungle. There's a joke at the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland... it goes something like this... (Pulling into the Hippopotamus pool at night...) "Now, we have had a miraculous thing happen right here at the Jungle Cruise, right here in the Hippo pool. Just a few days ago, a baby hippo was born here in the Hippo pool. And on quiet nights, like tonight, when the moon is shining, you can sometimes hear the baby hippo calling out to it's mother... Why don't you just listen. Nice and quiet now..." <long pause> "HEY MA!" "There it is folks... did you hear it." Now, that's a total inside joke, and one that barely anyone will get, but I had a friend who wanted it on a shirt, so I made it, and here it is...

Sadly, the Hippotarians didn't win the 2016 election, but we can all stand behind them. Actually, based on the amount of poo that is thrown by a Hippo, standing behind one is a pretty bad idea. Still, there's always 2020, and we can stand beside our Hippo brethren as they get the political clout they deserve.

The African Veldt at the Jungle Cruise has all sorts of famous African animals on it. This Jungle Cruise joke is one of the more subtle jokes that's been around for more than a few decades, but I kept getting requests for it, so I figured I'd do a helvetica list for it.

There's a big generational gap between Jungle Cruise Skippers. The split happens in the late 90's, when the spelling of "Boat" suddenly changed to "Bote". Well, to make sure that we are representing all generations, we have shirts available now with both spellings.

So, I got asked to put together something as a sticker for the back of Skipper cars, and Skipper Richard Wallace did not disappoint with his artwork. This sticker will proudly, one assume, identify you as a Skipper. (or just a lover of The Jungle Cruise)

So, as a designer, I sort of have a niche. (Disney/JungleCruise/Tiki) The Skipper Store has 6 different designers who do a variety of items, but they are all sort of in that same category. So, I thought, why not broaden the Skipper Store and try playing with a few other designs and styles. They may not be as much of a "click" for our core audience, but why not give them a run, right? This one has a bit of the obvious Kawaii influence, but it was just sort of a starting point for me to play with a whole different look and style.

Laugh at their jokes or your skipper will be your swim instructor.

Richard Wallace is amazing. Both as a Skipper and an artist. I assume this is not a self portrait, as Richard is much taller, and not a cartoon. This and our other new shirt, B is for Bote, are us kicking around some concepts for a children's alphabet board book that will be happening at some point. This was so darn cute, though, we wanted to make it available earlier.

Jung Ho-yeon Squid Game

It's great seeing LGBTQ representation in Disney movies, and the Jungle Cruise movie (while not overly pronounced) did have a touching moment with Jack Whitehall's character. We had so much demand, we wanted to do something to celebrate this moment...

At the World Famous Jungle Cruise in Anaheim, a series of gunshots fired indicate problems with the ride or boats. a "6 Shot" situation is the worst, meaning your boat has come off it's guide. From the dock, hearing 6 "bangs" is a rare occurrence, but standing there when you hear it is an unforgettable experience. (This is a very specific and niche design, really just for Jungle Cruise Skippers from DIsneyland...)

The story of Alexander Hippoton is a long storied story in the annals of Jungle Cruise history. This plucky young Hippo rose up and help found his nation, trampling the British and ensuring the right to wiggle his ears and blow bubbles. The musical version of his life is even now burning up ticket sales in the Hippo pool...

The lovely ladies of the Tiki Room... some of the hardest working performers in show business, 40 shows a day for the last 53 years or so...
