Part of my Mythical motherhood series, the Lily fairies are my interpretation of how fairies are born and how the dynamic of motherhood exists in the fairy world.

In the spring, she comes, Green and bright and glorious, The lotus fairy.

The triple moon is a Goddess symbol that represents the Maiden, Mother, and Crone as the waxing, full, and waning moon. It is also associated with feminine energy, mystery and psychic abilities. You often see this symbol on crowns or other head-pieces, particularly worn by High Priestesses. The Maiden represents enchantment, inception, expansion, the female principle, the promise of new beginnings, youth, excitement, and a carefree erotic aura. The Mother represents ripeness, fertility, fulfillment, stability, and power. The Crone represents wisdom, repose, and compassion.

This watercolor painting was created in an important phase of my life. It was the beginning of a new phase of life.

Based on the clothing of an unmarried princess during the Joseon dynasty (phoenixes and flowers featured), the Lotus Lantern Festival in Korea (which is based on the tradition of the Buddha's birthday), and a certain long-haired princess.

The setogram is also known as the faery or elven star. It is used within some faerie traditions but is also associated with many other magical traditions. Seven is a sacred number in many pagan traditions, and this star symbol can be used to represent different sets of seven things depending on a person's beliefs or tradition. The number three is commonly considered to relate to heaven and the higher realms while the number four relates to the earth. 3 + 4 = 7 which can be seen as heaven and earth coming together as a whole.
