This is the view of the southerly end of Maligne Lake. The day we went there the weather was calm. The whole scene appeared so tranquil. In taking the original photo, I was drawn to the blueness of the sky, the blue of the distant haze, and the incredible colour of the water. I think it's such a lovely image; I hope you do too.

I went back and looked at this image and figured it needed more work. So this is a Feb. 1 2014 re-edit of Maligne Lake in Alberta, Canada. Another view of Spirit Island. To get to Spirit Island, you need to take a boat along Maligne Lake, which is in Jasper National Park, Alberta. It's a remote spot, but absolutely delightful. I love the colour of the water, the collection of trees on Spirit Island, the distant mountains, well everything I suppose. I hope you enjoy it too.
