Topsham was my childhood playground, my brothers and I would walk from Whipton where we lived and play in and around Topsham, sometimes getting the rowing boat (One man ferry) across to the Exeter ship canal and walk back that way. I love all the little villages around here and still like to visit now and then. I still have another of Topsham that has stayed on my easel for a year now and need finishing. but here we are you can enjoy this one in print. Topsham is a suburb of Exeter in the county of Devon, England, on the east side of the River Exe, immediately north of its confluence with the River Clyst and the former's estuary, between Exeter and Exmouth

When I saw the sun setting over the Exe Estuary in Exmouth Devon, I just had to do this painting, I hope you like it to.

Higher Shapter Street, Topsham, DevonHIGHER SHAPTER STREET, TOPSHAM. IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO FINISH THIS PAINTING, YEARS, I KEPT GOING BACK TO IT. FINALLY DECEMBER 2020 I HAVE FINISHED THE PAINTING ON CANVAS, AND I AM PLEASED WITH THE FINISHED RESULT. There is only one street named Higher Shapter Street making it unique in Great Britain. The original is currently for sale.

Exeter Quay Number of views as of 29th August 2018 = 1000. Dating back 2000 years or more, the historic quayside by the River Exe in the city of Exeter (Devon, England) has seen many changes over the centuries. Exeter's wealth came from the woollen trade which peaked in the mid 18th century. Cloth woven in the area was loaded onto ships on the quay and transported all over the world. Nowadays the quay offers relative peace and quiet, just 5 minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Date: 8th December 2012.
