My cycling buddy commissioned this painting, its his Dawes Galaxy touring bike in the background and this is his favourite refuel on a Sunday ride. A good old fashioned mug of tea with some sugar and hot tea cakes, just the job. I use Winsor and Newton professional acrylics and glazes and the painting has a high gloss, deep lustrous surface. The edges of the canvas are painted and glazed to enable the artwork to be displayed with or without a frame. The painting is supplied with fittings for hanging and a certificate of authenticity.

A cyclist descends a lumpy lane hemmed in by drystone walls, accompanied by a playful spaniel terrier. The touring bicycle has a Carradice saddlebag which is full of provisions for the day. Much of my work is autobiographical and the dog is called Bruce. This is one of a series of landscape paintings inspired Frank Patterson's cycling illustrations of bygone days combined with personal memories of the Pennine weather and its rugged terrain.

I always fancied having a Mercian touring bike, with red and white barber pole graphics down the seat tube. This painting depicts a good old fashioned mug of tea and hot tea cakes with a touring bike in the background. The sides of the canvas are painted so it can be hung directly on the wall with or without a frame. It is signed front bottom right and on the back. I am a keen cyclist, who lovingly restores bicycles and then records them for posterity by producing fine canvas's that are totally unique. A cyclist proceeds along a bumpy lane defined by drystone walls and avoiding puddles he wearily passes a spaniel/terrier who stares intently. Shafts of light break through rain clouds to illuminate a working cotton mill in the distance. The Carradice saddlebag holds the cyclists provisions, including a pump, which he may need on this surface. The painting is autobiographical and the dog is called Bruce.
