Description: Lycanthropy—addicted to the Moon, I tried to show the process of letting out the wolf within. The human form is reduced to just an empty skull, and the wolf is taking over under the influence of the Moon. I have always liked werewolf myths, and they have often inspired my artwork.
Description: Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald were students at Bailey Down High School. They were social outcasts and rivals with a field hockey player named Trina Sinclair. Ginger and Brigitte handed in a grotesque slide show assignment and were sent to the school's guidance counselor as a result. Later, Ginger, having been infected with the curse of lycanthropy killed the school janitor during a party on Halloween night.
Description: A legend born in the northern woods, the Michigan Dogman is said to roam the backroads and forests of the Great Lakes State — a towering, wolf-like creature with the stance of a man and eyes that glow in the dark. First reported in the 1880s and whispered about ever since, it’s Michigan’s most fearsome secret.
Description: August 18th to the 24th is National Lycanthrope Awareness Week, a time to share a thought for your fellow werewolf. Because, ya know, werewolves are people too – they just grow hair and snack on human flesh during the full moon. In most capital cities there will be some sort of festivity, culminating in the nationwide ‘Great Hunt’ over two massive nights. Human volunteers can register with your local authority. Happy Lycan Week!
