I don't do many sketches, drawings, or pen and ink, but occasionally get asked to do one, so try my best. Much prefer painting.

I found an old sepia photo of the construction of Tower Bridge in The Thames Police Museum, and asked to turn it into a painting. I only had the stern of the ship. After research in the London Docklands museum, with the help of the curator, we found that a ship called the 'SS Ruahine' may have been up there during this period, so I was able to paint the whole ship from a very faded photo of her. It also shows the local boys nicknamed, The Mudlarks, playing in the dity Thames water, and a Police rowing galley with three officers nearby. A very detailed painting on a 100 by 80 cm canvas in oil. It took months to complete, but now you can enjoy it in print, a little bit of London's history not to be missed captured in oils. I was a police diver and a sports diver for many years. From all the Underwater video I took I produced enough paintings to have an Underwater Exhibition. This was the second painting I did of Ras Mohamed, but 4 times the size of the previous one 6 feet by 4 feet.

DescriptionJet was a beloved Labrador owned by our good friends and neighbours Robin and Anne-Marie Hann. Jet was put to sleep because of a serious illness this year 2033 and is sadly missed, so I painted his portrait in the South Fort of Berry Head, Brixham. Somewhere he loved to walk and run. He had a habbit of finding the biggest stone he could get in his mouth the carrying around on his walk. He will always be remembered and now imortalused in oil. The original will be given to Robin on his 80th birthday in July.

The Napoli had been damaged in a storm in 2007 and was abandoned by its crew, it was then taken in tow to take it to portland for repair, but the weather got worse and it was decided to Beach her in the waters off Branscombe. The beaching location was at Branscombe around 1 mile (1.6 km) off the Devon coast, near the coastal town of Sidmouth.12 This area of the coastline where MSC Napoli was beached is a part of Britain's first natural World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast. The Associates (or simply Associates) were a Scottish post-punk and new wave band, formed in Dundee in 1979 by singer Billy MacKenzie and guitarist Alan Rankine. Wapping High Street, showing Pier Head, and the famous Town of Ramsgate Public House, Men pressed ganged into serving on ships and convicts destined for transportation to the Colonies, were held in cellars at the pub. Execution Dock was situated nearby. Men were hanged then chained to posts in the river, the tide rising over them three times before their bodies were removed. It was on Wapping Old Stairs, next to the pub, in 1688, that Judge Jeffries (the Hanging Judge) was captured whilst trying to flee the country dressed as a sailor. painted in oils on a 24 by 12 inch canvas

This is the second painting I have completed of Boy Leslie, I just love the colour of the hull and the red sails, and the way she cuts through the water, thank goodness someone went to the trouble to preserve her. BOY LESLIE was built in 1911 at Galmpton as a fishing trawler and had a considerable history in the UK before being sold to Norway in 1939. She was sailed first as a BM312 out of Brixham and later Plymouth as L0392 when she was bought by the Hewitt family, fishermen of over two centuries' standing who in their heyday operated a fleet of 220 vessels. DescriptionA summers day, looking at St Johns Church Wapping London from the graveyard, Captain Bligh, of the famous mutiny on the Bounty lived in Wapping and was married in this church, most of his children were christened here to. Wapping is steeped in history and I have captured this in my paintings in and around Wapping. This was painted on a 20 by 30 inch canvas in oils. Wapping was originally a Saxon settlement, believed to be that of Waeppa's people, and although it is not known exactly where the original site of the village was, it is known that this area was marshland until the 16th century when it was drained. The blacksmith is still hard at work making a new show for someones horse, a brown spotted dalmatian called Pipa drinks water at the pond, It's the artist dog, and she is very loved so he thought she deserves to be in the painting.

The Flying Dutchman, a ghost ship appears as the ship is engulfed by a freak large wave, in the sky the sailors see the clouds have turned into the hand of doom. When we are in mortal danger and in fear of our life the mind can make us see strange things and to the sailors the large wave becomes 'The Flying Dutchman. ORIGINAL FOR SALE

The Palace of Westminster, a painting I have wanted to do again, but different for a long time. 2 months to complete, and the inclusion of a London Bobby, my main occupation for 30 year, prior to becoming a full time artist. I joined Thames Division in The metropolitan Police in the 1970's. This was the sort of police boat I started learning to cox. It was a single screw boat, with a perkins diesel engine. A tough little boat that could take all the knocks and had a towing post for pulling drifting barges and broken down boats. Oil on a small canvas board

Double locks on the Exeter Ship Canal was a regular pub for me, a walk along the canal bank gave you a thirst. I would often go there with my brothers Bruce and Neil, I decided it was time to do a painting of the Pub called double locks for my brother Bruce, and here it is. I included him standing on the canal bank in his Chelsea Floorball top. I gave the original to him as a birthday present, but you can have it in any product Redbubble produce.
