Scotland Stickers
Description: Scotland is a country that covers the northern third of the island of Great Britain and includes more than 790 smaller islands. It shares a border with England to the southeast as well as a maritime border with Eire. I painted this map shortly before the independence referendum of 2014 and included it in a piece I wrote on my website: https://ericbrightwell.com/2014/09/17/the-50-best-scottish-bands-of-all-time/
Description: Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. A full plaid is a long piece of tartan fabric, traditionally worn as part of a highland dress. It usually matches the tartan of the kilt. A full plaid is pleated the whole way, with half of its length sewn shut (so that the pleats cannot open). Its length is almost twice the height of the wearer (about twice the distance from the ground to the wearer's shoulder). Plaids are any crisscross patterns of two or more colors. Tartans are plaids with a name to identify a community or family. Checks are plaids with a regular pattern, usually of only two colors. Plaid sometimes describes the crisscross pattern of tartans or similar.
Description: This cute design by artist Jeff Bartels features a small baby penguin holding a scratched and worn acoustic guitar. The flag of Scotland is painted on to the old guitar giving it a patriotic look. The flightless bird is sitting down with its feet beside each other and is looking forward with its head slightly tilted to one side. The over sized head and small body along with the details in the feathers and guitar create a beautiful combination of a cartoon and realistic look. This unique and adorable Scottish penguin chic design is perfect for all animal and music lovers.
