This was the first version of my Doctor Weave. I got the idea of the second version just as I was finishing this one.

The Doctor, despite all the different personalities and eccentricities they have, is the same goofy time lord.

“We all change when you think about it. We're all different all through our lives. And that's okay, that's good. You've got to keeping moving. As long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.” I came up with this idea shortly before the premiere of the Series 8 and the new Doctor, Peter Capaldi. I wanted to honor all the regenerations in one painting. It's one of my largest - 48" x 24". The concept of a regenerating lead character is what makes Doctor Who so special. Peter Davison was the fifth Doctor. Since his predecessor, Tom Baker, was the Doctor for eight years, the fifth Doctor was developed almost in absolute contrast to the fourth Doctor. He was more cautious, more serious, younger and less eccentric. He wore a Cricket uniform. If you're not familiar with Cricket, it has a very preppy, trim look to it, like something you'd see at a private Country Club. The only eccentric part of his wardrobe was the celery that he pinned to his lapel, but even that had a purpose, as he claimed that it would turn purple in the presence of certain poisonous gases.
