Almost Home Magnets

The John Denver Almost Heaven Design remembers the much loved country singer John Denver, through the opening lines of his most well known track, Take Me Home, Country Roads. Originally recorded on the Poems, Prayers and Promises album, the song became Denver's signature tune and still sells to this day despite his untimely death in 1997.

A Digital artwork of a USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress flying low over the English Channel, “Almost Home”. The aircraft has severe flack damage to the port wing, the tip has been blown off and the port engines are burning oil. The tail has also been damaged with the rudder and tail gun turret blown off . Escorting her home are two B17s that have dropped back in support. This is my digital depiction using photographs of the only European flying B-17 Sally-B. It’s based on photographs of B-17s that made it home with flack damage that were beyond belief!

This was kind of a challenge piece for me. Not that it was hard, but every now and then I'll get a weird idea, and this one was to create an entire picture with parts from a single subject. Every element in this picture was repurposed from that subject, which you can find unaltered somewhere in the pic.
