Classic 60' s Burns of London Split Jazz guitar profile The crazy groundbreaking aspect of the Burns are the electronics. When the model was first introduced in 1961, it featured 4 pickups, and only around 50 guitars were ever made. Jim Burns simplified the design to a 3-pickup guitar that got produced from early ’63 to ’64. It featured low impedance pickups that were paired to 3 individual transformers that modified the signal in order to meet the wiring design. This is how crazy functions like the “Wild Dog” or “Split Tone” were born. You see, the pickups were actually 2 “sub-pickups”, divided in low section and high section, making it possible to combine the bass magnets of the neck pickup with the treble magnets of the bridge pi...

This is one of my favourites in my collection of rural scenes. I discovered this lovely white church one foggy morning in central Prince Edward Island. Perched on a hill along a country road, I took advantage of natural soft lighting to bring out the warm tones of this memorable pastoral scene. The church is located in Birch Hill, east of Charlottetown. It is the Free Church of Scotland, built in 1880. Images of Canada. Forsythia bushes are among the first plants of spring to burst forth in flowers. Forsythia flowers precede their leaves, which means you get a good look at the blooms with no foliage to block your view. The delicate flowers are 4 lobed. These spring-blooming shrub knockouts are easy to grow and quite adaptable. Lasting a brief period before a spring rain drops the bright yellow flowers to the ground; enjoy the show while you can!

I discovered this old barn during a garden and artisan tour around Creemore in Central Ontario. I thought it had a lot of character with the weathered doors as it sat at the edge of the garden. Could I make an interesting image with this scene? I settled on this approach with green and red tones. What's behind the doors? Various antique garden tools? Perhaps an old tractor or car? What would be your great barn find of your dreams? The tree and vines over the doors reminds me of a pleasant summer day in the garden and shade. This is great as garden lifestyle or home décor. These striking deep blue berries on bright red stocks, caught my attention while out hiking. It was a wet November day while I was out walking. The contrast of the bright colours among the seasonal brown vegetation is part of the joy of outdoor discoveries. There is always something new! This is alternate-leaf dogwood, (Comus alternifolia). Native to eastern North America, found along moist woods and stream banks in the Northeastern US and Canada. Alternate-leaf dogwood berries are a favourite food of summer songbirds and ruffed grouse. In general, they can be eaten raw or cooked but apt to taste very bitter and regarded as a survival food rather than a desirable fruit. This photo is a reminder to get outside and explore! Nat...

Ice on winter bittersweet. American Bittersweet is a perennial vine native to central and eastern North America. The flower are plain and uninteresting compared to the berries that follow. As the flowers fade orange-yellow capsules appear. In late fall the capsules open to show bright red berries inside. The berries remain on the plant well into winter, adding colour to the winter landscapes. The berries last throughout the winter and easy to spot. The crimson berry-like fruits are toxic to us mammals but highly sought after by birds. Here the berries have been released leaving the orange seed pods to brighten the winter scene.
