The soil gets compacted. Before winter a single ripper went down between alternate rows. This lets moisture from winter rains in. Now its time to pass the cultivator over the ripped rows to dig the grasses back into the soil. We are practicing organic. Join us on Instagram. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Our vines, organically grown since 2013 have been under a restoration process and are now producing premium fruit. 5 different winemakers purchase our fruit. Ducks have notoriously bad eyesight at night. and are just as likely to prang into something.... hence the name duck (verb) if you ever heard one flying at night. This one flew into my studio at midnight and was a bit dazed for a little while. The pink-eared duck is a species of duck found in Australia. It has a large spatulate bill like the Australasian shoveler, but is smaller at 38–40 cm length. Its brown back and crown, black and white barred sides and black eye patches on its otherwise white face make this bird unmistakable.
