A view of Bristol's floating harbour taken from Prince's Wharf, looking across to the Canon's Marsh area of the city, with St Augustine's Reach to the right of shot, straddled by Pero's Bridge. The tall ship (centre) is the Kaskelot, a 3 masted barque built in Denmark in 1948. The Kaskelot has appeared in several films and TV productions and is one of the largest wooden boats still in commission. The ferry in the foreground is the 'Matilda', built in 1997 and one of the Bristol Ferry Boats fleet. Cranes at Bristol Docks Number of views as of 29th May 2019 = 300. Four electrically powered dock cranes along Prince's Wharf, overlooking the Floating Harbour, Bristol, England. The cranes were built in 1951 by Stothert & Pitt, an engineering company from nearby Bath. Date: 18th February 2014.

Hotwells, Bristol Number of views as of 14th June 2018 = 390. Hotwells is a district of the city of Bristol (Avon, England), located just west of the city centre and south of the suburb of Clifton. The stretch of water in the foreground is part of Bristol's Floating Harbour, constructed in the early 19th century to allow ships to access Bristol Docks, unrestricted by the tidal ebbs and flows of the River Avon. Hotwells gets its name from the warm springs which bubble up through the rocks of the Avon Gorge underneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Date: 18th February 2014.

Porlock Weir on the Bristol Channel (Somerset, UK) Like most ports in West Somerset, the small harbour is tidal but has a small home-based flotilla of yachts and is visited by many more in spring and summer. The port has existed for over 1,000 years. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle reports that in 1052 Harold Godwinson came from Ireland with nine ships and plundered the area and even before that in 86 AD it was visited by Danes. In the 18th and 19th centuries coal from south Wales was the main cargo and in World War II pit props cut in local forests were exported the other way.
