Just as you see in the Rider-Waite deck, our Fool is depicted as carefree, standing on the edge of a precipice with no regard to the dangers that may await him. Description: This witchy, ethereal design features the future Goddess of the Underworld, Persephone. This Major Arcana tarot card has been re-imagined with the maiden goddess Persephone as she represents the essence of The Fool due to her naivete which leads to her abduction by Hades. As Greek mythology tells us, Persephone was picking flowers during the season of spring when a chasm in the ground beneath her opened up. Hades emerges from the smoke below with plans to kidnap the naive maiden goddess. A parrot attempts to warn her of the dangers ahead, but it is to no avail to the oblivious woman.
