Monsal Head, Little Longstone, Derbyshire, UK, with the snow sitting on the peaks of the hills. This is a picturesque beauty spot with a gorgeous view down Monsal Dale and the Wye valley.

The two part Slater Bridge takes advantage of a central large rock and a very long slate slab to cross the River Brathay on its way from Little Langdale Tarn to Elterwater. The Ribblehead Viaduct also known as the Batty Moss Viaduct in the Ribble Valley of North Yorkshire, carries the Settle - Carlisle railway over Batty Moss at Ribblehead. Teesdale, historically part of the Yorkshire Dales, is now within the Durham Dales. Teesdale, being the drainage basin for the River Tees is well known for it's many waterfalls, particularly High and Low Force. This rural landscape is close to Bowlees Visitor Centre and, if you want some exercise, can be explored at close quarters as footpaths run across the fields.

The county of Northumberland is England's most northerly and also its least densely populated. This image was taken on a beautiful August afternoon looking west out over the moorland near Newton on the Moor towards the Simonside Hills.

Looking across a green field to the village of Ipsden in South Oxfordshire which sits on the edge of the Chiltern Hills overlooking the wide expanse of the Thames Valley - a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). In this view, approaching from the A4074 between Reading and Wallingford, we can see the parish church of St Mary the Virgin - the present building dating from the C12th. the belfry which we see is somewhet later dating from the C19th. An impressionist painter's view of a vineyard in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. This area benefits hugely from the warm Mediterranean sunshine in which grape vines flourish. Indeed the land here was earmarked for wine production in Roman times and this has continued to the present day. Languedoc-Roussillon lies in the south west of France with the Mediterranian as its southernmost border. This image is produced from my original photograph.

Scotland is such a captivating country, I loved travelling through all these different landscapes, all equally beautiful and magical. The Isle of Sky had some of the most impressive ones, I honestly felt like a fairy on a magical land!
