In Latin American folklore, La Llorona is one of the most famous oral legends. The lore states a woman was unloved by her husband and her husband loved the two boys instead of her. She caught her husband kissing another woman and drowned her sons in a river. Out of grief and anger she then drowned herself.

Llorona "The Crying Woman" or "The Wailer") is a Mexican vengeful ghost who is said to roam near bodies of water mourning her children whom she drowned in a jealous rage after discovering her husband was cheating on her.

This is a piece depicting the Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood 2022 take on the Infamous La Llorona, the weeping woman. Art created by me:)

Based on the Latin Legend, La Llorona, The Weeping Woman, drowns herself in grief after killing her children, and is cursed to wander the earth forever in search of them.

Her heartrending cries shook the whole regions, especially those ignorant people who came out of raids at night in the rivers where she rested.

A beautiful woman drowns her children in order to be with the man that she loves. Rejected, she drowns herself but is forced to wander the Earth for all eternity, searching in vain for her drowned childern, with her constant weeping giving her the name "La Llorona." She is said to haunt rivers and streams crying, "Mis hijos! (My children!)"
