It's noir. (I'm not even sure what that means.)

Because shadows of stuff are better than the actual stuff.

Initially, this image was created in black and white without color. But as I was working with it in graphic software, I expanded it and added individual colors to fit this scene. It turned out beautiful as a result.

For this piece, I used some ink blot but mostly paint splatter designs to then form a woman, whom I then put into a film noir filter. Resulting in the final product

Hollywood Noir is a graphic tribute to the Glory Days of Hollywood, Film Noir & Detective Fiction

This painting shows the moment a door is opened and reveals a woman waiting in the dark all dressed up sitting in a highback chair as if on a throne. Something dramatic is about to happen for sure. This is one of my works from art school. I used photos in an old photography book for reference. It may be Marlene Dietrich but it ended up looking more like her daughter Maria Rivas. One of my favorite paintings from those days.

Another murky noir situation: a blonde, a gumshoe, headlights, maybe a gas station....
