Shipyard Magnets

Byss was a planet in the Deep Core, near the center of the galaxy, discovered no earlier than 45 BBY. Byss itself was somewhat of a myth, seeming to be the perfect place to live. Its eerie blue-green glow, caused by its sun, also added to the strangeness of the world. Despite this outward appearance, however, Emperor Palpatine's dark-side energies were everywhere, corrupting not only the inhabitants, but the planet itself. The Galactic Empire's military operated a Class IA shipyards at the planet Byss. The shipyard was capable of producing Imperial-class Star Destroyers and cruisers.

The Vento system shipyards, also known as the Vento shipyards, were ancient shipyards that were located within the Core Worlds' Vento system and lay on the super-hyperroute known as the Perlemian Trade Route. The shipyards were used by the Galactic Republic during the Great Sith War—a conflict waged by the forces of the Sith sect against the Republic—and came under a Sith attack during their first offensive wave. During the final stages of the war, the Human Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma attempted to force a Republic military officer to transmit orders to the Republic fleet instructing all the fleet's starships to arrive at the coordinates of the Vento system shipyards—an action that would cause the destruction of many Republic vessels.

V'ger was a massive entity and one of the most extraordinary lifeforms ever encountered by the United Federation of Planets. It generated enormous levels of power and threatened Earth with destruction until it found a way to evolve. V'ger chose its own name. Before the name of the vessel was discovered, Starfleet personnel referred to the ship as "the intruder".

The Begamor Heavy Industry Group was a corporation that was active during the High Republic Era.

SoroSuub Corporation was a Sullust-based company whose tech division developed and manufactured a great variety of technological goods, from droids and sensors to weapons and vehicles. The company was owned by the even larger Commerce Guild, a conglomerate of retailers, arms manufacturers, agricorps, and other service providers. During the Clone Wars, SoroSuub's Sullustan Home Guard, led by Admiral Dua Ningo, threw its support behind the armed forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, as part of the Commerce Guild's arrangement, and was charged with defending both the Sullust sector and the company's interests.

The Bothan Spynet was a well-organized intelligence network that was active during the time of the Galactic Civil War. A Kupohan named Sakhet occasionally did contract work for the Bothan spynet, running a small noodle hut as a front of her intelligence services. The members of the spynet found out about the location of the Second Death Star for the Rebel Alliance to prepare their assault on Death Star II, despite suffering heavy casualties.

Telgorn Corporation was the manufacturer of a number of space stations and a large line of small transports in addition to jolt cells around the time of the Galactic Civil War. They produced things for both the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. It is possible that Kost & Ko Factories entered a joint venture with the Telgorn Corporation over the design and manufacture of the X7 Deep Space Manufacturing Facility, or at least licensed the right to produce it to the larger company.

One of the paintings that marked a new period in my art. Two years ago, in 2022, I told my friends that I dreamed of painting the sea. I was especially struck by the colors of the water and sky in Livorno. The clouds here are very special. The ships that come and go beyond the horizon, like diamond jewelry, shimmer in the evening darkness, and the reflections of the port lights in the water of the bay create such a magical atmosphere that it takes your breath away.

The Greenland town of Narsaq lies at the edge of the Greenland Ice Sheet and chunks of floating ice are common place. Boats are a necessity for locals, seen here in the boatyard next to Narsaq Marina. Locals can skilfully navigate a route through the ice flows. Taken on 19th June 2023 Nikon D780 Nikon 28-300mm

Duro Starshipwright Shipyards, abbreviated to DSS, were a number of orbital shipyards over the planet of Duro. They were very large stations, capable of accommodating a wide variety of starships.

BlasTech Industries was one of the galaxy's top three arms manufacturers, with Merr-Sonn and SoroSuub being its main competitors. BlasTech was the market leader in the manufacture of personal energy weapons and light artillery. BlasTech was most famous for its blaster weapons, though the company also manufactured a number of starship weapons including turbolasers, ion cannons and missiles.

The Star Forge was a giant automated shipyard, designed to create the most powerful army of all time. It was constructed by the Rakatan Infinite Empire in 30,000 BBY, five thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Republic. The Star Forge drew energy and matter from a nearby star which, when combined with the power of the Force, was capable of creating an endless supply of ships, droids, and other war material. The Rakata, also known as "The Builders," constructed the massive space station through the use of slaves from many subject worlds including Belsavis, Corellia, Coruscant, Dantooine, Drall, Duro, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Selonia, Sleheyron, Malastare, and Tatooine.

The Eriadu Manufacturing Shipyards were the facilities operated by Eriadu Manufacturing, on the planet Eriadu. The shipyards were situated near Phelar Port, alongside the eastern banks of the Phelar Floe. The shipyards' main product was civilian repulsorlift and interstellar craft.

The Bilbringi Shipyards, or the Bilbringi repair yards, were a major military production facility first controlled by the Galactic Empire, then later the New Republic. Located in orbit with the asteroid Bilbringi VII, the shipyards were a mass of dockyard platforms, partially built starships, and construction vehicles.

Rendili StarDrive was a starship-manufacturing company based on the planet Rendili. One of the ancient Founding Shipwrights, it was the primary supplier of ships to the Republic Navy for millennia until it was eclipsed in the final centuries of the Galactic Republic by Kuat Drive Yards. StarDrive was associated with companies such as Rendili Vehicle Corporation, Rendili/Vaufthau Shipyards LTD., and Rendili-Surron. Rendili Star Systems was apparently a subsidiary of Rendili StarDrive.

Golan Arms was a company that produced the DF.9 turret placement, a model of fixed laser cannon emplacement. During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic used Golan DF.9s on the planet Hoth during its fight against the Galactic Empire there. Golan Arms also produced the SP.9, a mobile artillery piece utilized by the Imperial Artillery Corps of the Galactic Empire.

The Hast Shipyards were a major New Republic shipyard and repair center at the planet Hast which specialized in repairing damaged warships for combat duty. The yards were maintained as a secret yard for high-profile projects. The Hast Shipyards were chosen for a major refit and repair for the New Republic Imperial-class Star Destroyers Emancipator and Liberator. However, Imperial agents discovered the location of the shipyards. Shortly thereafter, a large Imperial fleet attacked the yards. It inflicted severe damage: besides heavy damage to the pair of Star Destroyers, twenty corvettes, five frigates, and seven MC80 Star Cruisers were put out of commission.
