Double slit experiment. Light from a light bulb (left) is shone towards a plate (centre) containing two slits. The light that passes through the slits is observed on a screen behind the plate. This experiment shows that light exhibits the characteristics of both a wave and a particle, a phenomenon known as wave-particle duality. Each photon of light travels through one of the slits, as would be expected of a particle, but light from the two slits interfere, as expected of a wave.

According to popular legend, she asks potential victims if they think she is attractive. If they respond with "no", she will kill them with her weapon. If they say "yes", she will reveal that the corners of her mouth are slit from ear to ear, and she will then repeat her question. If the individual responds with "no", she will kill them with her weapon, and if they say "yes", she will cut the corners of their mouth in such a way that resembles her own disfigurement.

The first double-slit experiment was conducted by Thomas Young, in early 1800 to show light is a wave. But the interference pattern collapses once the detector was placed in both of the slits to detect the light pathway. This gives birth to the particle-wave dualism of light.

The infamous Kuchisake-Onna is known to ask "Am I pretty?". Just remember, honesty is the best policy. Respond with a simple, "Ehhh, you're ok" and you may be safe.
