Spawning Salmon Magnets

It is a member of he salmonoid family and is found in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean along East Asia, ranging from the Kamchatka, Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, and Primorsky Krai south through Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. It enters rivers to spawn. Its spawning run starts earlier than that of other salmon species.

The Spawning Sockeye Salmon come in from the sea between ages of 3 to 5 years old to spawn in their birth waters.

Remember, a dead fish can float down a stream, but it takes a live one to swim upstream.

This was part of a series of 2, a visual commentary about the diminishing numbers of spawning salmon in the Fraser River in interior BC as well as the coast of BC that was leaving bears and other animals starving and hungry looking for their regular food source.
