Stave Magnets

Huginn and Muninn (“Thought” and “Memory” respectively) are pet ravens of the Norse god, Odin. Odin’s ravens fly all over Midgard (Earth) collecting all of the information they can in order to report it back to Odin. In my interpretation, Huginn and Munnin are surrounding a magical stave named Ægishjálmr (Helm of Awe or Helm of Terror). It’s one of the most mysterious and powerful symbols in Norse mythology.

The Helm of Awe, Helm of Terror or Ægishjálmur is an Icelandic magical stave that was used by the old Vikings for mental and physical protection and when worn between the eyes in battle, it was said to induce fear to the enemies and confer invincibility to the warrior.

Borgund stave church (Borgund stavkirke) is a stave church located in Borgund, Lærdal, Norway. It is classified as a triple nave stave church of the so-called Sogn-type. This is also the best preserved of Norway's 28 extant stave churches. The Helm of Awe, Helm of Terror or Ægishjálmur is an Icelandic magical stave that was used by the old Vikings for mental and physical protection and when worn between the eyes in battle, it was said to induce fear to the enemies and confer invincibility to the warrior.

This symbol is the svefnthorn, an Icelandic magical stave. According to the manuscript from which it originates the svefnthorn is meant to keep one asleep so that they cannot wake unless the stave is removed. I've based my version off the one found in the Huld manuscript.
