This is a tributary of Wissahickon Creek that runs through the Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill, PA.

Into the Light Watercolour on 140 lb. Arches cold press paper I painted this in a workshop last week with well known Canadian artist, Art Cunanan. I have been painting with Art for years and it is he who started me on this wonderful watercolour journey about 25 years ago.

On the western side of Thirlmere in England's Cumbrian Lake District is a narrow winding road along the length of the lake. Several parking places give access to woodland walks to the shore of the lake. This bridge is on one such walk near the southern end of the lake, crossing a small but torrential stream tumbling down the hillside. It's the sort of bridge that invites you to cross it - just to see where it leads!

Sunlight pierces through the vibrant canopy of a mystical forest, illuminating a serene glade where a gentle stream meanders through beds of soft pink flowers, invoking a sense of peace and rejuvenation.

A couple having an afternoon's stroll through woodland. This scene was captured at Moor Copse at Tidmarsh in West Berkshire. Here the River Pang passes under the footbidge on its way to join the Thames at Pangbourne about a mile and half further on.

A walk or drive through Hamsterley Forest in Autumn will eventually bring you to the waterfall at Blackling Hole, where Spurlswood Beck flows over the rocks. Hamsterley Forest is the largest forest in County Durham and covers more than 2,000 hectares of scenic woodland lying between the Wear and Tees valleys on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

As twilight descends, a forest comes alive with the symphony of light; sunbeams filter through the pines, casting a gentle glow over the flowering underbrush and the murmuring stream, creating a harmonious blend of shadow and illumination.

A wooden footbridge takes this woodland pathway over a stream and into a shaded clearing. Dappled sunlight is breaking through the canopy of leaves and branches lighting up the tree litter on the ground. Let's go and explore this pathway! My original image given an oil painting finish.

The Schuylkill River runs for 135 miles and eventually empties into the Delaware River. The name Schuylkill River comes from the Dutch who settled in the area and means "hidden river".

For quite some years this was my best work, only recently eclipsed. It shows a popular spot in the New Forest, Hampshire at a time when there was nowhere around. Here the river meanders lazily through the trees slowly changing so you can never find the same spot again. This view, captured in oil on board (20inches x 30inches), comes from Autumn - round about late October or early November. I took the original picture in the infamous spring of 2001 when foot and mouth was rife across Britain. The restrictions had just been relaxed, and without people in the way, the New Forest had put on its best Spring growth for many a year. This picture of Ober Water (oil on board 30x20 inches) strives to capture the purity of nature on show that year. Ober Water is one of the most picturesque streams of the New Forest (Hampshire, UK) as it weaves its way to Brockenhurst.
