Description: Michael Anthony Sobolewski is best known as Michael Anthony, the longtime bassist and backing vocalist for Van Halen. Before joining Van Halen in 1974, he played in several local Southern California bands, including Poverty's Children, Black Opal, Snake, and Balls. Black Opal was a Pasadena-area rock band in the early 1970s. Michael Anthony played bass in the band before moving on to Snake.
