Description: Garehime Music Co. was a longtime fixture of the Las Vegas music scene, tracing its roots to 1924, when Jacob “Jake” Garehime and his wife, Edith, opened the Garehime Music and Jewelry Store. A musician and skilled piano tuner, Jake initially specialized in selling, rebuilding, and repairing pianos before expanding into records, sheet music, radios, organs, and musical instruments. By the 1940s, its North Third Street store featured a large record department and listening booths popular with local teenagers. Garehime Music later moved to Sahara Avenue and continued serving generations of Las Vegas musicians before closing in 1988.
