Sokol spacesuit. This Soviet spacesuit is used by cosmonauts who fly on missions in the Soyuz spacecraft. The name is the Russian for falcon. It is worn during launch and re-entry to protect the cosmonaut if the spaceship has partially depressurized. It would be useless in cases of complete loss of pressure. The spacesuit here is being worn by the Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers (born 1958). Kuipers took part in the Soyuz TMA-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS), launching on 19 April 2004. He returned to Earth 11 days later on 30 April 2004, aboard Soyuz TMA-3.

It has a diameter of around 140,000 kilometres, more than ten times that of Earth. It is a gas giant and is mostly hydrogen and helium. Juno arrived at Jupiter in July 2016. Its mission is to orbit Jupiter over the following year, gathering information about the planet's atmosphere, magnetic field and gravitational field. Cheshire Cat galaxy group. Composite image of a group of galaxies known as the Cheshire Cat group. The arc features are distant galaxies, whose light has been stretched and bent by gravitational lensing. The left eye of the group contains an active supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy. Each eye galaxy is the brightest member of its own group of galaxies and these two groups are moving towards each other at over 300,000 miles per hour. It is thought that the Cheshire Cat will eventually become what is known as a fossil group, with one giant elliptical galaxy and other much smaller, fainter ones. Space tourism. Futuristic space tourism poster advertising the delights of a Grand Tour to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The Grand Tour follows the route taken by the Voyager 2 spacecraft, launched in 1977, which visited all four outer planets between 1979 and 1989, using gravity assists in its flights past Jupiter and Saturn. This flight plan would be possible every 175 years or so, when the outer planets are suitably aligned.
