St John's, Spetisbury Number of views as of 19th January 2017 = 500. Regular visitors to my portfolio will know that I enjoy taking pictures of local (and not so local) churches. The county of Dorset in the south of England has a wealth of them. The church of St John the Baptist, in the village of Spetisbury (on the A350 Poole to Blandford road) is another fine example. Parts of the church, including the tower (which contains 6 bells) date from Norman times, though much of the church was rebuilt in the 1850s. Date: 17th October 2010. Foden Steam Lorry Number of views as of 3rd June 2017 = 1300. A Foden steam lorry in the livery of New Forest cobbler George Knight pictured in the main arena at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. Foden Trucks was a British truck and bus manufacturing company originating from Sandbach, Cheshire, founded in 1856. Production switched from steam powered vehicles to diesels in the 1930s. The last Foden rolled off the production line in 2006. Date: 4th September 2010.

The Badger Dray Number of views as of 29th August 2018 = 1870. The greenest way to deliver beer! A brewer's dray pulled by a pair of Suffolk Punch horses, captured in the 'pairs' class at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. The dray is owned by local firm Hall & Woodhouse (established 1777), who brew their popular range of beers at the Badger brewery just down the road at Blandford St Mary. Date: 4th September 2010.

*Burrell Log Hauling* Number of views as of 28th May 2018 = 940. Summer's here and the time is right for the Great Dorset Steam Fair - yeah! The 2014 event takes place from the 27th to the 31st of August at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum, Dorset. The GDSF is now in its 46th year, and the 600 acre site makes it one of Europe's largest outdoor events. As well as a celebration of all things powered by steam, the event also features vintage, veteran and classic cars, motorcycles, agricultural machinery, military vehicles, heavy horses, fun fair and loads more. Robey Steam Engine Number of views as of 4th March 2018 = 700. Another exhibit being put through its paces at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. The Robey company was founded in Lincoln in 1854 and began by manufacturing threshing machines. Later, the company diversified into steam engines, steam rollers, steam wagons, boat engines and even aircraft during the First World War. At the International Exhibition in Paris in 1878, their steam engine was the only one to run for the entire exhibition without breaking down, earning them a prestigious 'Gold Medal' award. The engine shown is in the livery of Jesse Parker, of Ringwood, Hampshire. Date: 4th September 2010.
