The snowy owl is a species of strigiform bird in the Strigidae family. In the United States it is also known as the Snow Owl, Arctic Owl or the Great White Owl. It is a fairly recognizable owl that inhabits the tundra of Asia, North America and Europe.

This is a beautiful snowy owl that I got to know called Magnum, unfortunately he has now passed on. This is one of my favourite shots of him and I have given it a painterly look using photoshop CC and Topaz.
