Night Flight was an online visual-arts magazine and variety television show that aired on cable TV from 1981 to 1988 before moving to syndication in the early 1990s. Night Flight was one of the first sources on American television to view full-length and short films not generally aired on network television, or even pay channels. Night Flight was also one of the first American television shows to present the music video as a serious visual art form rather than a mere promotional tool for musicians. Late-night broadcasts also afforded cable television the freedom to air portions of videos that other outlets had either censored or banned.

Bunny's Motel first opened their doors in 1957 in Grants Pass, Oregon, serving the traveling public who were increasingly exploring the country in the decade following WWII's end. While information on who Bunny was is lost to the sands of time, her motel lives in, albeit as apartments today, though her iconic bunny sign still stands tall and may very well be the single most photographed objet d'art in Grants Pass.

The "Kill Your Television" slogan was popular in the 80s and 90s and still relevant today.

USA Up All Night was a hosted cable movie show that ran on Friday and Saturday nights from 1989 to 1998. Programming tweaks were made here and there over the years, but for the most part, the show consisted of three movies that would air from 11 pm to 5 am. The show had three hosts during its nearly decade-long run; Gilbert Gottfried hosted Saturday nights, and when the show began Caroline Schlitt hosted Friday nights, but in 1991, Rhonda Shear took over as the host of the Friday night edition. The hosted version of USA Up All Night was brought to an end in 1998 as a result of new management wanting more upscale viewership. The network fired the hosts and started airing mainstream movies throughout the night, instead of B-movies.

Gallagher is an American comedian who became one of the most recognizable comedic performers of the '80s for his prop and observational routines that included the signature act of smashing a watermelon on stage with a comically large sledgehammer. For more than three decades, he did 200 shows a year, destroying tens of thousands of melons with the sledgehammer he called the "Sledge-O-Matic." Aside from his signature comedy club performances, Gallagher is credited with having the first stand-up special on cable TV, and for largely shaping the genre.

There are entire generations out there who have no idea that there used to be dedicated TV stores that literally sold nothing but televisions and television accessories. From furniture like cabinet based models to and early big screen projection sets to compact counter top sets and early portable models, these local stores were the place to go if you needed a new TV, one of those fancy new video cassette recorders, or a satellite dish bigger than your car. Located in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida, Television City of was one of these stores, and if you listened to their TV and radio spots, they were THE place to go for a new set.

SK8-TV is a skateboarding cable TV series that originally aired in 1990 that was hosted by Matthew Lillard (who went by the name Matthew Lynn at the time) and Skatemaster Tate. It was a skateboard variety show that featured on-set interviews as well as off site action segments. The set for the show was built on location at the Pink Motel in Sun Valley, California, which was famous for its large fish shaped pool that was ideal for skateboarding. Despite its single season run, various techniques were introduced to television in SK8-TV, including hand-held cameras and the use of multi-format film and video. SK8-TV resurfaced a nearly a decade later in 1999, and this time around, ran for six season until ending in 2005.
