Checkered Flag Mugs
Description: Mention a racetrack that operated in Brooklyn for more than 55 years, and people will think you're crazy, but they're clearly just not in the know. Buzz-a-Rama was a slot car racing venue that was opened in 1965 by Buzz and Dolores Perri that had multiple electrified racing tracks, vintage arcade games, and dusty glass displays selling slot-car racing parts. The hobby was extremely popular in the '60s, with dozens of similar raceways in the city, but Buzz-A-Rama was the last commercial slot-car track in operation in NYC. While other tracks had died out decades ago, Buzz kept his open, even though it made no money, saying that if he didn't own the building, it would have been long gone as well.

Description: Sun Electric Corporation was founded in 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, focusing on manufacturing electrical test equipment for automotive use. After the war, hot rodders were increasingly souping up their rides and a need to monitor their engines became apparent. Sun applied their history with precision testing equipment to aftermarket automotive gauges, producing some of the best gauges of all time that allowed racers to keep an eye on their engine at all times. From tachometers to oil pressure and everything in between, Sun made a gauge for it, and these original units that came out decades ago remain the holy grail of instrumentation to this very day with most of them still working like new.

Description: The first true Grand National model, clad in the model's iconic gloss black with pretty much zero chrome trim, debuted in 1984 and was instantly hailed as a triumph of performance by the automotive press. Pumping out a then-stout 200 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the rear-wheel drive, 3.8-liter turbo coupe blew the doors off just about everything on the road. The Grand National was a subtle sleeper, giving even the Italian supercars a run for their money... and winning almost every time. Despite high demand for these road rockets, the production number remained low before the plug was pulled, so they are still a hot commodity among car enthusiasts and collectors alike today.

With the aid of his dealer connections, his prowess on the track caught the attention of Bowtie's racing gurus in Detroit, and Nicholson was one of the first to receive a 409 when it debuted in 1961. He put that 409 to good use, winning the Top Stock Eliminator at the first Winternationals in his Bel Air. He repeated that feat in '62, by which time he had been lured to Atlanta to work his tuning magic for Nalley Chebby.
