Description: Sméagol obtained the Ring by murdering his relative Déagol, who found it in the River Anduin. Gollum referred to the Ring as "my precious" or "precious", and it extended his life far beyond natural limits. Centuries of the Ring's influence twisted Gollum's body and mind, and, by the time of the novels, he "loved and hated [the Ring], as he loved and hated himself."
Description: Spelunking tours to Gollum's Cave (also known as Sméagol's Cave) are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays by appointment only. Spots are limited, so make sure to book in advance. This guided tour begins with a 1.5 mile walking/crawling segment and concludes with a 1-hour underground kayak adventure. All gear is provided by the outfitter, as anything shiny (or especially golden) is specifically forbidden and could pose risk to the tour. Due to the tight squeezes required, it is HEAVILY suggested that you DO NOT eat Second Breakfast before arrival.
Description: The Prancing Pony (i.e. the Inn of the Prancing Pony) was an inn in Bree where Frodo Baggins, Sam, Pippin, and Merry first met Strider. The Prancing Pony was based inside the central hub of the town, near stables and various merchant stalls. Since Bree was built on the major road of the Greenway, it was a fairly well-traveled inn, and was so accustomed to hobbits that designated hobbit-rooms had been built. Barliman Butterbur was the inkeeper at the time of the War of the Ring. Nob and Bob were two hobbits that worked under him: Nob was a general servant, and Bob was as a ostler, tending to the horses and ponies.
