Waiting For the Tide In Tenby Harbour The stunning fishing town of Tenby in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. Even though the tide is out, and the boats are not bobbing about on the water, this is still a wonderful and lovely place to visit. The huge colourful town houses look down towards the fishing boats in this seaside town within Carmarthen Bay.

The old lifeboat station on a September day of sunshine and showers, with the harbour and North Beach in the background. This was taken from just outside the current lifeboat station as a shower was passing, and shows part of the rainbow over the harbour.

For a change from the obvious view of Tenby I chose to do this as a night scene, based on photos I took a couple of years back. The colourful houses are still there, but now lit by streetlamps that bring a magical quality to the whole scene. Painted in oil on a 16x12 inch board (using a lot of prussian blue)

Tenby Harbour Beach And Town Houses Tenby Harbour beach Picturesque harbour built into corner on North Beach, between the old medieval walled town and castle hill. There’s a small sandy beach tucked up under the harbour wall that’s perfect for very young children. To the south of the harbour are the lifeboat stations, the old and the new. Hire easy to sail fun boats or take a boat trip to Caldey Island. Dog restrictions apply to the whole of the harbour from 1st May to 30th September.
