Red Owl was a grocery store chain in the United States, headquartered in Hopkins, Minnesota. Founded in 1922, it was initially owned and operated by a private investment firm affiliated with General Mills, and purchased in 1968 by Gamble-Skogmo.

Tribute to the local landmark in Buckhead in Atlanta. Gone but not forgotten.

Jitney Jungle was a chain of supermarkets that began in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1919. It was a private Forbes 500 company and one of the largest privately held grocery store chains in the United States. It was acquired by Winn-Dixie in 2000.

Remembering Top Value Stamps and their mascot, Toppie the Elephant. Other stores gave out S&H Green Stamps but Kroger issued Top Value Stamps. We spent hours pasting the stamps into the books to get an alarm clock.
