La Bodega in the Majorcan resort of Cala D'Or. The image was taken early on an October morning before the crowds of tourists hit the streets and everything was being prepared for another busy day in the resort.

The dining room door which leads onto the terrace in Bodega Cortijo El Cura. This lovely old cortijo, set in 25 hectares of vineyards in the Sierra de Gador above Laujar de Andarax, Almeria, Spain has been sensitively restored retaining many of its original features. I rarely paint interiors but I was attracted to this simple composition of the large, wooden door, old chair and slate floor with the light shining in from the terrace beyond.
