Mousehole Harbour, Cornwall, England, Selective Colouring Mousehole is a historic fishing village dating back to the 13th century – a market started here in 1292, and it was a popular West Cornwall fishing town. It was much more significant throughout the medieval period than neighbouring Penzance, which is much larger nowadays. Due to where it is positioned, the seas here were particularly turbulent – which meant that the Mousehole sailors gained quite the reputation for being very tough!

Mousehole is a pretty village and fishing port in Cornwall, England, UK. It is approximately 2.5 miles south of Penzance on the shore of Mount's Bay. The village is in the civil parish of Penzance. An islet called St Clement's Isle lies about 350 metres offshore from the harbour entrance.

Mousehole Harbour Mousehole – a picturesque fishing village in a beautiful setting. Like Newlyn and Penzance sacked by a Spanish raiding party in July 1595 when the whole village except one house was burnt to the ground. That house, Squire Keigwins, whose owner lost his life defending it, is now the oldest remaining. A hundred years ago it was a bustling place, with the harbour crowded with fishing boats, landing locally caught pilchards, destined to be packed into barrels.
