Description: New Rochelle, New York, is a vibrant city in Westchester County, known for its rich history, diverse culture, and scenic waterfront along the Long Island Sound. Often called the "Queen City of the Sound," it blends suburban charm with urban energy, offering a mix of historic neighborhoods, modern developments, and a thriving arts scene. Home to Iona University and a deep-rooted artistic community, New Rochelle has long been a hub for creativity and innovation. Its proximity to New York City, along with its parks, marinas, and strong community spirit, makes it a unique and dynamic place to live and visit.
Description: Poloron Products was based in New Rochelle, New York, and produced a wide range of products from lawn ornaments and camping equipment to snow blowers and lawnmowers. In 1970, Poloron decided to get into snowmobiles and brought two models to market - the 295cc Cyclone and 299cc Tornado. Manufactured at their Michigan City, Indiana lawnmower factory, Poloron differentiated themselves as an American-made snowmobile manufacturer, putting them in the minority among their contemporaries, though while they made some nice machines, they were terrible at marketing. While the competition was taking photos in the mountains, Poloron used fake winter sets in the studio that looked incredibly cheesy. Needless to say, they never quite caught on.
