Description: J.C. Whitney & Co. began in 1915 as The Warshawsky Company, a scrap metal yard on the South Side of Chicago, founded by Lithuanian immigrant Israel Warshawsky. Israel’s son Roy come onboard, and his first contribution was to create a catalog, advertising it in national magazines. For 25-cents, customers would receive their catalog, chock-full of parts to help them work on and customize their cars. Response to the ad was overwhelming, and the company soon began shipping more parts through the mail than over their Chicago sales counter. The name changed to J.C. Whitney & Co. to give it a more American sound. Post WWII was an incredibly profitable time for J.C. Whitney as returning G.I.s got the hot rod bug, and needed parts in droves.
Description: The plan was simple – take Yamaguchi’s lightweight trail bike, the Scrambler, and make it better. PABATCO designed and engineered the motorcycles from their Athena, Oregon headquarters, and Hodaka was responsible for the engines, manufacturing, and assembly in Japan. This resulted in Hodaka’s first model, the Ace 90, which arrived in the U.S. in 1964 and became an instant success thanks to its low cost and durability and depending on who you ask, laid the groundwork for America’s trail bike craze. Hodaka continued to improve upon their original design releasing about 18 variant models until a combination of events led to the demise of Hodaka in 1978.
Description: The original Ford 'highboys' ('67-'77.5 F-250 4X4 models) were true works of art - a factory lifted pickup truck that sat 'right.' These early 4X4s were conversions of 2WD chassis as it was easier to utilize the original 2WD trans than to design an adapter to marry them. This meant that the transfer case was connected with a short driveshaft (aka a divorced transfer case) rather than being married to the back of the trans like they are today. Having the transfer case further back required a longer front driveshaft, which required the truck to sit higher for proper clearance. The end result was a truck that sat a good 4" higher than a 2WD F-250 and looked as tough as it was, quickly making them a hit with consumers for work and play alike.

Description: On March 24, 1959, Bultaco held a press day and launched its first bike, the road-going 125cc Bultaco Tralla 101, named after a Spanish word for whip. Just two months later Bultaco entered its first Spanish Grand Prix taking seven of the first ten places. The name "Bultaco" comes from combining the first four letters of Sr. Bultó's surname with the last three of his nickname "Paco". The name was a suggestion of one of Bultaco's premier racers, and close friend of Sr. Bultó, John Grace from Gibraltar. CEMOTO is an acronym for "Compañia Española de Motores".
