Staithes in North Yorkshire is famous as an artist's community and it is a place that I love to visit as often as possible. This graphite sketch was the preliminary to works in watercolour and acrylic but the spontaneity of this version has prove hard toi beat in conveying the sense of this fabulous stretch of the UK coastline.
