This is a composite image that I took at my local lake in Ainsdale a few years ago, after a particularly hard frost. I added the shelduck and the pintails and some textures and then added some light to give it a bit of atmosphere,

Hengistbury Head Land Train The land train at Hengistbury Head (near Bournemouth, Dorset, England) carried passengers from the popular 'Hiker' cafe near the main car park down to Mudeford Spit and back, and ran every day of the year except Christmas Day. Known affectionately to locals as the 'Noddy Train', it had nothing whatsoever to do with Enid Blyton's character of the same name! Sadly, after many years of service, the original land trains have been replaced by a more modern vehicle. The journey is 1.5 miles and takes approximately 15 minutes. Date: 6th August 2016.

Sometimes in the winter a little bit of sunshine can make a big difference to the normal cold and dismal grey weather. This happened down at my local lake , by the shore in Ainsdale. The trees were white with frost, the lake was frozen. the birds were all huddled together on the ice and the reeds were all drab and brown, but then the sun broke through the mist and lit the place up as a small group of sheducks flew overhead. This was taken at the same lake as my previous image, Winter on The Lake. Edited in photoshop CC and topaz, using my own images and textures.
