Emiliano Zapata Salazar was a Mexican revolutionary. He was a leading figure in the Mexican Revolution of 1910–1920, the main leader of the people's revolution in the Mexican state of Morelos, and the inspiration of the agrarian movement called Zapatismo.

Emiliano Zapata was a leader and hero in the Mexican Revolution, leading the peasant revolution, believing in Tierra y Libertad, Earth and Freedom for all and was the inspiration of the agrarian movement called Zapatismo.

Land and Freedom was a rallying cry of the peasants during the Russian Revolution, and it remained popular throughout the first half of the 20th Century. It was most popular among anarchists during the Spanish Civil War.
