Northern Lands-A Walk in the Forest. Abstractual Forest Scene.

From across the gorge, I noticed this stile and pathway slightly comforted by two windswept trees and in an instant I knew there was a capture to be had. I switched out lenses to shoot a little tighter with a vintage 85mm Jupiter f/2 lens and stopped down to help with contrast and sharpness. Fine focus was then achieved using Sony A7 mirrorless in camera technique and monochrome or black and white setting. Seldom am I happy with black and white for landscapes ~ but I rather think this works... :)

If it weren't for the detail in the flow of this image ~ I wouldn't have posted. Using a long exposure 10 stop and timed just nicely I made this image... I had already got a meter reading and adjusted my white balance according to the weather... Working in post I adjusted the exposure in the water using a radial blur and made minor adjustments in texture and clarity, then finished off by dialling down any distractions...

This piece was done using watercolour paints and finished with soft pastels to give it a furry coat texture. I think this piece worked really well, because it captures the furry textures well in certain areas of the figure and wirey fur around the face. The colours were also really nice to work with

"Spring Peepers" are tiny frogs that live primarily in forests and regenerating woodlands near ephemeral or semipermanent wetlands. Spring peepers are tan or brown with a dark cross that roughly forms an X on their dorsa (thus the Latin name crucifer, meaning cross-bearer), though sometimes the marking may be indistinct. They have a body length between less than 1 inch. On Martha's Vineyard, peepers are commonly called "pinkletinks"; in New Brunswick, Canada, they are sometimes called "tinkletoes", although not commonly known by that name, and usually referred to as simply "peepers". An ancient woodland, sees elderly silver birch trees, matured. This simple setting of trees on established patch of land, caught my eye. Not thinking much about Christmas, working in post it had that accent of tones which made me reminisce of the old christmas cards that we often used to see... and so I set to, to make a photographic similar... all its missing is the glitter!
