1939 Goddess of Speed Packard Hood Ornament

Packard was an American luxury automobile marque built by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, United States. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899, and the last Detroit-built Packard in 1956, when they built the Packard Predictor, their last concept car. Packard bought Studebaker in 1953 and formed the Studebaker-Packard Corporation of South Bend, Indiana. The 1957 and 1958 Packards were actually badge engineered Studebakers, built in South Bend.

This lovely old Packard was asked with a few other classic American cars parked in Benahadux, Almeria, Spain last Saturday. I do not know datthee of the model but it must be from the 1930s.

The 1934 Packard Sedan also known as the Packard Twelve was introduced to compete with the other luxury cars of the day. This classic antique automobile really made a statement. The popularity of the 1934 Packard help to keep the company alive during the depression.
