Description: This completely relatable situation happens in any type of profession, impacting English teachers and English students directly. Voice calls have suddenly become an unexpected intrusion in our highly digital profession. A dedicated employee watches their phone buzz on the desk, completely horrified that someone decided to skip the standard text. An English educator receives an incoming call from the main office and immediately assumes a massive scheduling emergency is happening. An English learner sees a peer calling instead of sending a quick group message and simply watches the screen in pure shock. We all value the ability to read a screen at our own pace, making a sudden loud ringtone feel like a massive disruption.
