The AMC AMX, (American Motors Experimental), was produced in low production numbers in 1969, just 8,293. A Big Bad paint option for $34 became available starting in mid-1969 . Other options were a 390ci V8 engine and manual Hurst floor shifter. The AMX was clocking in at 0-60 in 6.6 secs. In 1969 and 1970 the AMX was named 'Best Engineered Car of the Year' by the American Automotive Society of Engineers. Midwest car show.
