Law's primary military specialty is Military Police, and his secondary military specialty is intelligence. He served in Houston's Fifth Ward a police officer for two years but wanted a more fulfilling way to serve, so he enlisted as an MP with his German shepherd, Order. Law is trained as a dog handler and possesses a natural affinity for animals, and he is additionally Airborne qualified.

His primary military specialty was medical doctor and his secondary military specialty was chaplain's assistant. Doc was the first member of the G.I. Joe medical team, and possibly the only one with a terminal degree; his M.D. Doc is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins to become a full medical doctor. He also completed training at the Airborne School, Mountaineering School and the Desert Training Unit. He is an avowed pacifist for practical reasons, in accordance with the Geneva Convention guidelines for battlefield medics.

Apart from the standard modular radio pack, their gear includes a automatic frequency hopper, cryptography unit, and jamming/anti-jamming equipment. Their helmets come equipped with high-resolution earphones and they get to use dual microphones. That may all be impressive and all but do they get any respect? The helmet's visor is capable of giving LED readouts that's triggered by a computer pack installed onto their radio gear. That readout is visible to anyone he's in front of is a source of jokes for other Cobras.
