This is one of my favourites in my collection of rural scenes. I discovered this lovely white church one foggy morning in central Prince Edward Island. Perched on a hill along a country road, I took advantage of natural soft lighting to bring out the warm tones of this memorable pastoral scene. The church is located in Birch Hill, east of Charlottetown. It is the Free Church of Scotland, built in 1880. Images of Canada. Rural barn with silos. A typical barn located in Central Ontario countryside surrounded by crop fields. This was in late autumn as farmers let the crops such as soya beans dry before harvesting. Typically I am looking for bright autumn colours but the muted tones of this fall scene gives an overall sepia tone to the image. The result is an interesting study of farm life and rural charm. This is an area where the Niagara escarpment extends northward to Georgian Bay. The hills have the advantage of scenic lookouts over the farm land and surrounding country side. Introducing the epitome of countryside tranquility - a stylish black and gray cow!

These great products have a portrait of a distinguished black and white border collie, his name Badger, he was the gentlest collie you could ever imagine. This dog portrait is print of my original soft pastel pet portrait that I painted of him. I worked from a photograph of this amazing collie dog as he rested in the log shed with the bantam chickens. The title of the painting is "Keeping An Eye On The Girls" because this particular border collie wouldn't harm anything, he'd just let the hens peck the ground around him. I think this original animal art makes a great gift for someone special, or maybe you just want to treat yourself to a little piece of original dog portrait art. I pulled over for this late one evening. I had to wait until the clouds opened for the sun to highlight the landscape. Two trees stand in a wheat field. I love the early summer days when crops of wheat turn to gold and provide a rich contrast to the rural landscape. Soon the wheat will mature and be ready to harvest. Farm life. Summer days. The baler is used to compress cut and windrow crops such as hay, or silage into compact bales that are easy to handle and transport from the field. The stored bales are used as feed throughout the year for livestock. This is actually a vintage baler that makes smaller round bales than the much larger ones in the background. I grew up on a farm and used such a baler. It was a noisy machine that shook rattled and rolled with lots of belts and pulleys.
