I pulled over for this late one evening. I had to wait until the clouds opened for the sun to highlight the landscape. Two trees stand in a wheat field to complete this country scene. I love the early summer days when crops of wheat turn to gold and provide a rich contrast to the rural landscape. Soon the wheat will mature and be ready to harvest. Farm life. Summer days. A country scene with hay bales. This caught my eye during an artisan tour in the Purple Hills area near Creemore of Central Ontario. These hay bales are much larger than the smaller hay bales that can be collected from the field and stored in a barn. Do you have stories of haying season? A beautiful winter scene on the farm. The red barn stands out against the snow-covered ground and trees. The sun is setting behind the mountain in the background giving the snow a golden glow and the trees are casting long shadows across the ground.

I painted this little rural snow scene on this jigsaw puzzle as a Christmas card for my mum, the festive image reminds me of winter walks to my grandmothers, as a child we’d walk to grannies house every weekend, but walking through the thick winter snow in the festive season was extra special, very cold though! I’ve always liked walking in the snow. The row of rural country cottages are set on a slight slope in the landscape and have snow covered roofs, you can imagine a roaring fire glowing inside these cosy homes, the snow is falling and covering the hedges and roads in front ofthe cottages. I hope you like this little christmas winter snow scene I titled This little water-colour snow scene picture “Cottages In The Snow"

A lone tree on a grey November day provides a moody scene. The fog provided a soft and dispersed light. I pulled over for this, as the sculpture of the old and gnarled tree made a striking silhouette. The crow was a welcome addition that added to scene.
