GDSF 2015 - Foden 8 Wheeler Number of views as of 31st March 2019 = 600. A 1964 Foden 8 wheeler tipper truck, one of the commercial vehicle exhibits at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset. Powered by 150 horse power Gardner diesel engines, these trucks were a common sight on British roads in the 1960s, and had a reputation for quality and reliability. Foden Trucks was a British truck and bus manufacturing company, founded in 1856 in Sandbach, Cheshire. The company was acquired by American form Paccar in 1980, who ceased using the Foden marque in 2006. Thanks to owner and restorer, H.Turner of Cumbria, this Foden keeps on trucking.
